What is ACM?
The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world's largest educational and scientific computing society. ACM is widely recognized as the premier membership organization for computing professionals. The organization promotes policies and research that benefits society. By joining the UTEP chapter of the ACM student organization, you can get a head start on your career.
The national ACM organization has several special interest groups (SIGs), including the following:
- Computer graphics
- Human interfaces
- Artificial intelligence
- Mobile communications
- Computer science education
- Software engineering
- Programming languages
As a registered student organization at UTEP, the ACM student organization provides many activities that are both fun and informative for students to participate in. If you want to find out more about ACM or want to join, we encourage you to speak with one of our officers. You can also attend any of our meetings.
